Drinking straws and setting lotion for African American hair.?

I heard you can use drinking straws and setting lotion for an Afrocentric style. Do anybody know anything about this, what kind of setting lotion to use. how do you do it, how does it work?

yes you can use drinking straws to get the curly fro look! Use Motions Foam Setting wrap lotion! Section your hair while it's wet into small portions like your gonna braid it. Then wrap your hair around 1 straw downward! keep doin that until the portion of your hair is completely around the straw! Keep doin your whole head or the part you want curled! After your finished with putting the straws in sit under a dryer until your hair is completely dry! After it's all dry take the straws out and finger the curls out! Your done!

Go to sallys and get setting lotion i forget what its called but its purple,its like 2.99 get some straws wet your hair towel dry it saturate it in the lotion wrap small sections around the straws like you would a curling iron. you can get little metal clips to hold it on,they have those at sallys too. You have to let them dry completely them take em out you'll have cork screwed hair,put a scarf on at night so it won't flatten or frizz.
