What help breakage on african american hair?

shampoo, condition and hot oil once a week, limit how much heat you put on your hair when styling, use a very light oil on your hair daily to moisturize. also, try wrapping your hair at night. not only does it keep your hair from being rubbed against the pillow and possibly breaking off but it keeps you from having to put heat on your hair to style it in the morning. ask around for a good hairdresser, try to see her/him at least once a month.

Avoid relaxing your hair too often, I perm my hair only 2wice a year, and when the relaxer starts growing out, I braid my hair, usually my natural hair (no extensions). Also, our hair isn't naturally conditioned like other races so it dries up very easily. I would recommend using hot oil treatments, or a leave-in conditioner. Also wear a scarf or wrap of some sort over your hair while sleeping. My hair is very thick and long because I don't over-relax my hair, and I use Donnie's Activator Moisturizer (and no I don't have a Jeri Curl). There's something in that type of moisturizer that make black hair grow like crazy. Good Luck!
