A good resource that shows you how to wrap your hair would be motowngirl.com.

Is the scarf square or triangle? They come in various sizes and shapes. The best bet would be try different ways of tying it. What works for one may not work for another. I know with me I use a regular square scarf and fold it across into a triangle and then tie my hair down. If I'm wearing my hair down I'll wrap my hair first then tie it down.

Also, what kind of sleeper are you? My mom can never keep a scarf on her head because during the night she's constantly tossing and turning. Also, I think she doesn't tie it tight enough, altho she disagrees with that one. Mine isn't tight to give me a headache, but it won't slip off either.

Hope this helps.

I can't give you best advice on how to tie your scarf without knowing the shape and size of it. Sometimes a person tosses and turns so much that the scarf is going to come off anyway. What I do is tie my hair with a scarf but I also cover the scarf with a satin bonnet for added protection. You might want to invest in silk or satin pillow cases in the event your scarf slips off during the night.
